the girl's feet made friends with another girl's feetThese feet met and lived near each other for several years. Their compatibility stemmed in part from the difference in their sizes. Sharing shoes was never an issue.
The girls' feet learned that there will always be a time when having tanned feet with painted toenails becomes crucial. Affordable, splashy adornment like nail polish from the corner drugstore can brighten the most dismal of summers.
They went to parties together, and strange weddings where the bridesmaids were so uncomfortable, they gave up their shoes. Luckily, the girls' feet fit each pair perfectly.
The girls broke up with boys and wore appropriately dark, tearful and protective footwear.
...and eventually, the girls branched apart but even - and especially - in a crowded room, no matter what their clothes, these feet will always find each other and take the time to pose for a picture.

the girl's feet liked bootsThey make you scary and also invincible. The first boot looked like this:
It cost $39 for combat boots abandoned by a graduated cadet or perhaps a soldier who went A.W.O.L or crazy. There was a name written inside in magic marker. The boots laced up the calf, over your long underwear and when worn with cut off denim shorts and a plaid, flannel shirt, were the height of fashion. You could even wear them with dresses! Many mountains which seemed unsurmountable were mounted with ease while these feet wore battle-boots. Then, because all that lacing does get tiresome, and constantly searching for tall enough socks becomes more like an obsession than like fun, the feet asked for some shorter, more-like-running-less-like-climbing-mountains boots.
Ankle high but nonetheless kickass! After all, there are only so many mountains.
Of course, boots can make you feel less like kicking ass and more like dancing. Sometimes, you just need boots that make you stand a little taller, no matter how tall you are to begin with. They're for strutting, for scaring small dogs, for walking on the moon, or prancing around Ontario.
