Big Trombone

OMG PONIES! We had a baby boy! His name is Trombone. Seriously, we can’t decide on a name for him yet. Trombone has really stuck, unfortunately, so we’ll have to get him a real name soon. But you are the internet, so you don’t get to know what it is. Ha ha!

Les stats:
Born 2:26 pm July 1, 2006.
9 lbs 2 oz.
Wasn’t as bad as all that. Not nearly as bad as hospital food.
Pics & story to follow.

Uncle Truckdrivingchef, sorry, your comment was in moderation until I got home.

Thanks for your happy wishes!

Hey congratulations! Pity it wasn’t a girl, you could have had some free beer. Maybe you can just lie to the liquor store lady.

I don’t care if I’m the internet or not. Not only do I want to know what his name is (when he has one), I have an opinion on that, too.

What’s wrong with Trombone? I think that’s a perfectly fine name. And you can rest pretty well assured that he’ll be the only one in his Grade One class.

This last from the man who wanted to name one of our daughters Thorneycroft and the other Laurel Anne Hardy.

Come to think of it, Trombone’s not so bad.

    Congratulations and all that.

  4. Michael says:

Just to be clear: I’d suggested Thorneycroft for both girls. Laurel Anne Hardy was the backup when it got shot down for the second time.

  5. Michael says:

    I know I know I know I know!

    You should call him Thorneycroft!

  6. Arwen says:

I am so excited for you! Yay y’all!
I can’t even offer a suggestion for names, since we’ve had two boys with six names between ’em, and we’re utterly expended. Well, except for Lycra and Spandex: but those are obviously for twins.

  7. Suzie says:

Yay, congratulations! You sound like you’re feeling great! Our second runner up boy name was Darwin… might as well think big!

  8. Joanna says:

Congratulations to the proud parents and welcome, Big Trombone! Yay! Hope you’re all doing well, and let the bonding begin. I personally like the names Finley, Otis, and Jamie. Darwin is cute as well. Looking forward to the big name announcement and meeting the newbie.

I’m personally a big fan of the name Elwood, though I think it would work better as a middle name. Trombone Elwood. Yes!

Congrats on the Canada Day Baby! Trombone is cute, but I could just imagine the grade school torment with that name.
