{"id":430,"date":"2005-04-23T10:13:31","date_gmt":"2005-04-23T18:13:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/torturedpotato.com\/cheeseblog\/?p=430"},"modified":"2005-04-23T19:28:46","modified_gmt":"2005-04-24T03:28:46","slug":"laugh-monkeys-laugh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/torturedpotato.com\/cheeseblog\/?p=430","title":{"rendered":"Laugh, Monkeys, Laugh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I happened upon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypress.com\/18\/16\/news&#038;columns\/taibbi.cfm\"> this review in the New York Press<\/a> of a book called &#8220;The World Is Flat.&#8221;  I had only anecdotal interest in the book but now I fear I must abandon my life as I know it and find the author of the review, Matt Taibbi, and give him a big squeeze around the middle for I have not laughed so hard since I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cafepress.com\/gcmugshot.9808525\"> Gordo&#8217;s goofy mugshot <\/a> on a variety of fresh pressed clothing and accoutrements for the home and office.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure I remember how I found <a href=\"http:\/\/notwithoutmyhandbag.com\/\"> Not Without My Handbag,<\/a> but I was tickled just shy of torture to see her tagline, <i>It&#8217;s my handbag and it freaks me out!<\/i> which of course comes from Beyond the Valley of the Dolls the most FREAKTASTIC movie EVER!<\/p>\n<p>I had blueberry pie for breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway the funny things at Not Without My Handbag were the pages about <a href=\"http:\/\/notwithoutmyhandbag.com\/babynames\/index.html\"> bad baby names.<\/a>  These were gleaned from baby name boards (mostly&#8230;some were plants according to the FAQ) dating back to 2001 and had snotty\/clever (depending on your mood) responses added from the handbag-purveyor.  Pour example:<\/p>\n<ul><i>&#8220;Hi, I would like some opinions on these two boy names for girls? I really like them. Brandyn, I am really liking this name? Curious about different spellings? Brandon, Brandin? Branden?<br \/>\nJayson, Also curious about different spellings? Jacen? Jaycen? Jaysen? Tyler?&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>This was actually written by Dr. Evil&#8217;s father in a mad attempt to back up his claim he invented the question mark. He used it for all punctuation, whether it was a question or not, until the authorities caught up with him. In his madness, he also thought T-Y-L-E-R was pronounced &#8220;Jason.&#8221;<\/ul>\n<p>Right, right, now I remember.  I found that page on a google-beam from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newbabynews.net\/hospitals\/stf33\/public\/stf33birthannouncement.pl?babyID=h33-440\"> here,<\/a> which came from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cruel.com\"> cruel.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also found: <a href=\"http:\/\/ragemonkey.blogspot.com\/\"> A call from some Catholic priests <\/a> to unleash our inner ragemonkeys.<\/p>\n<p>Urrrrrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhh!<\/p>\n<p>Stop!
