this group of feet belongs to some loner-outcast types in their late teens and early 20s, come together in one small bedroom to hang, sing, smoke and drink.

this is a boxing day view of the socks received by the pictured group as christmas gifts. * note the slack postures of these well-fed & over-drunk individuals.

final photo is of three neighbours in one kitchen, drinking tea and comfortable in their feet and their company.

feet want
to be with other feet.

feet are social creatures, self confident because their roles are obvious.
peoples' relationships with their feet are as confident, but for different reasons.

try this: walk up to a group of people - they can be strangers or friends, depending on where you live - and ask to take a picture of their feet. they will say yes. at least they will more likely say yes than hit you.
it's not a portrait, after all. it's a foot! no one will recognize you doing the thing you're not supposed to be doing. no one will be able to comment on your shiny forehead, double chin or red eye. if someone says your foot, as pictured, is ugly, well so what? everyone's feet are ugly. even supermodels'.
