It's just a few minutes' drive from my parents' home, so we used to go there all the time as kids as well. Lots of walks and picnics. We have been beaching a lot this summer, it's an easy day trip or evening dip. The boys love it too, and on average there is less bickering. I hear that the home school crowd is also in the swing of new books and materials. There is "box day" for some where the box of materials shows up for the "teacher" and the kids go crazy? I doubt it has changed much. I remember that he said, "I need to get a haircut." And I was all, "Really? Can't it wait? I haven't got all day because 90210 will be on soon." And he was all, "What's your damage? It's just a haircut." And then it took exactly 7 minutes, because there was one guy ahead of him who wasn't quite done. And I was amazed.
